I agree have a heavy barrelled Remington R25 we only have a 200 yard range. Gets boring real quick. But found out Valleyview range is now 800 meters. Will be buying a membership and spending lots of time there. Up side Ill be spending more time at the cabin it's 45 minutes closer
 
If AR's weren't restricted I wouldn't own any other rifle type but ARs. I would have a 22lr, 9mm, 5.56 carbine, 5.56 target rifle, and probably a 6.5grendel carbine. You just can't beat the AR for accuracy and weight.

I gotta agree here too. Our Laws blow!!!

I love the Swiss Rifles, but if AR's were Non Restricted, I would likely have never bought my Swiss. It certainly would not have come first. I would still love a bare bones DI AR with a short barrel, such an awesome firepower to weight ratio.

Side note, the entire thread is kind of a my #### is bigger than yer #### thing......

$2500-$2600 OD (edit: black) coloured (I think) and that's with BUIS, one mag, and rail covers that I know, I've never asked what all comes in the package.

I can tell you I would rather have an AR-15 than either and I would rather have a VZ58 than an AK-47.
 
I know.... My opinion?
Canada's firearms legislation has effectively removed cost effective accurate semi-automatic 223 rifles from the hands of your typical gun owner.
Is a new $900 ruger mini-14 cost effective for what you get? I'm not sure - maybe depending on use?

Coyotes? I know they call it the Ranch rifle but honestly it's probably not the best choice...
I'd be better off with a Stevens 200 or Savage Axis for $350....

Running and Gunning 3 gun matches? Sure sounds like a good idea to me :)

How does this look for a Coyote rig?

As much as I like my AR15, I think I would have to go with an AR10 over the AR15. I enjoy shooting 5.56, but it doesn't make a big enough bang. M14 with muzzle brake does, so I need an AR10.

That pattern of rifle (20 inch AR, full handguards, with or without rails/optic and collapsible stock) really ought to be NR - I have no issues with the shorties being tied to the range (if they absolutely have to be anal about something), but the civillian version of the country's service rifle really should be something everyone can own and use. Even if they required neutered mags and semi auto carriers.

So true. That's the road Vic Toews' Firearms Advisory Committee was headed down before Wendy sat her fat @ss on that road and forced a detour... or more accurately, a ditch-dive and rollover.

That being said, it's not sub-$1500, but then neither is the setup you pictured. That optic alone breaches your $1500 limit ;)
 
If the AR wasn't restricted, I probably would not have bought the Swiss, the Tavor, the XCR, the CSA in 5.56, the Ar180 et cetera,,,.
I probably would only have the one flat top AR. (instead of a full safe):redface:

I do love the AR, the plain jane flat top with one optic and maybe a buis of some sort.
But I am glad that I have the other rifles to learn and play with too.

Just I really do like my full length, adult sized, wiggle-free butt stocks.

Speaking of level three shoots, on my last let's see now,,,
,,, between the four and the three hundred my pants fell down,,,
,,, I did a head over heels somersault coming off the berm at the three hundred,,,
,,, from the two hundred to the one hundred I was laughing too hard to even make it in time,,,:redface:

Brand new! Never fired.

NEA Lower built with DMPS LPK. DPMS 24" 1-9" Twist barrel with a YHM Rifle Length FF Hand Guard.

Really a nice setup and a good feeling rifle, but need to make way for other projects.

I'm asking $1400 OBO Shipped as pictured or I can swap the A2 stock out for a Magpul PRS for $1700.

That's hilarious
I've almost lost it coming off a mound but that's because I have two left feet - pants stayed UP fortunately.

I've got mixed feelings on the carbine stock but I do like getting having some room around the charging handle and keeping the optic a little forward... Adjustable length of comb starts to be a good idea at that point.

I'm not particularly used to it but it seems to work well enough for me.
I must admit - I'm partial to wood stocks...
