Grow some balls, seriously, you make me sick.

By the way is that a picture of you crying?

But honestly Republic how do you really feel. Talk about kicking a guy when he's down. Anyhow the situation was resolved tactfully. No suitcases and wifebeater shirts on the front lawn. No cops involved. That's what works for me. You do what works for you.

Anyhow, I appreciate everyone else's restraint and support during this somewhat shameful incident, and I look forward to bringing this horrible chapter to a close. Thank you and good night.

You must be single. Being married occasionally requires some tact and finesse and reinforcements as provided here on CGN.

You are also limited in your scope of appreciation of that which is important to the true gun nut if you didn't recognize that avatar. The horror, the horror....

Tell her every species has the ability to over reproduce itself, you are just doing the deer a favor by harvesting it, so it will not starve to death. Works for me! :D

Why won't she let you go hunting? Does she have a reason or is she just the controling, dominating type?

More importantly, why is it HER decision? It should be up to her to decide if she will still be there when you get back, not if you go in the first place.

X2:shock:
X2

X 1,000,000

Time to get a new wife.

How many times do you say. "Honey your not allowed to go shopping because it reminds me of flushing money down the toilet"

My wife may withhold ### but there is no way she will stop me from going hunting

Petty tyrany does not indicate a relationship that contains alot of respect. Marraige is a partnership not a dictatorship and in partnerships, people have to make compromises and respect their partner as an equal. If your wife doesn't respect your choice to be a hunter regardless of her own beliefs it simply indicates she does not respect you as a man and to that end I'd have to say not going hunting is the leat of your problems. It's her way of telling you it's time to "Grow some balls!"

 Again, its about diplomacy. I'm going hunting. I still have ###. Had she not caved, would I still have gone big game hunting? Well for me big game hunting is not really my thing, the way other shooting sports are. It depends on what is a no compromise issue to you. I can tell you that I could never be with someone who was really opposed to guns or hunting. In this case, I would have continued discussing the matter with her, as I did the issue of handgun ownership with her when we first got together, and we would have come to a resolution (she recently shot my .44) and expressed some enthusiasm about my XD tactical! You attract more flies with honey than with vinegar. And for the record, fair is fair, my wife doesn't spend money, I do. Her mall trips pale in comparison to my purchases this year: Remington 700P LTR+ Nikon scope, S&W 29, S&W 686, Enfield Revolver, Springfield XD, Lakefield MK II, Springfield M6, Henry Survival Rifle...and she's cool with that (well so long as she thinks they were all on sale). :D

Well if things are that GREAT, why are you bring it to a public forum and whining about it :?:

Obviously you have only told us a very scewed and limited account of what happened.

Well, I admit it. My wife won't let me go hunting

Maybe you should have said, " after all the guns I bought and after all the time I spend at the range my wife convinced me not to go hunting"

That way people wouldn't be bashing you!

Your marriage is very ill, and it will not survive, regardles. The one you have now is not right for you.

Down the road, you will be much happier without her.

Somewhere out there, there is a woman who will understand your primitive, primal instinct for hunting, and love you for it.

Cheers,

Snowhunter

Good marraiges are a partnership. You can work anything out if you seriously try. Well, except ### maybe....
Going for thirty years married myself, no serious fights in all that time. She started hunting with me about five years ago. No issues.

GOOD ONE! :D

My wife grew up with a Father and Uncles who hunt. Her Dad would have a deer hanging in the barn out back every year...she would help clean ducks and geese every year and her Dad's guns used to hang on the wall right outside her room (they no longer do, due to today's laws).

I'm allowed to go hunting...as long as I let her Dad tag along...

And I always do...he knows all the good spots!!
