There's something to be said for doing business in person.

So I made the leap in to the restricted realm. Yesterday evening I placed an order for a Sig P226r .40 and some ammo online. An email came in around noon today stating I need to provide further information for the order (license pic/gun club/city born) and sent in what was needed around 1pm.
Later on in the evening I become an excited, inpatient turd and decide to send these fine people an email inquiring as to what is going on, did they get my email, etc... Their response was along the lines of they haven't looked at any orders from today, Is how I perceived it.

This is in no way shape or form a SFRC bashing post, I will continue buying from them now and in the future. I am just seriously kicking myself for not just driving in there yesterday evening or even this morning because I imagine paying in person the ball would have got rolling then and there. In my mind right now I can only imagine the CFO doesn't even know that I want this pistol and it will be well in to next week or even the week after before I get it. Then I have to wait for the club to get me my LTATT...
I don't think I'll ever order online again and I don't know why I did this time, doing business with them in person is a better experience.
I'm sure most of you can understand my excitement for my first pistol.

I found a smaller violin.

I usually wouldn't even bother posting this type of msg on here but you sent what I felt was a very rude email earlier today that almost brought my wife to tears.

I'm not trying to be rude but you ordered it late yesteday afternoon and sent in the required information this afternoon. Tonight we will print the information you sent then start the transfer. Sometime next week we'll let you know that the transfer is done and you can come pick it up. Coming into the store wouldn't have changed anything.

I'm hoping you just sent it in the excitement of the moment and I'm sure when you come in next you'll apologize to my wife.

Just went to do the transfer and I found out we are now even I guess. We don't actually have that gun in. I can have it here mid next week but I'll email you later to see if you still want it.

Don't try to read between the lines people, we are really out of stock on that gun.

SFRC is, quite literally, the fastest, easiest, no-hassle and no-bs dealer that I have dealt with on this website. I am 100% sure many, many will agree with me on this one. Looks like you should go get another violin. How quickly do you expect to purchase a restricted firearm? You're not ordering a book from Amazon.

Such is the folly of doing business online. Nothing gets details hammered out like a face-to-face discussion, especially for a first-time buyer - although a phone order is nearly as good.

IMO, you can't go wrong ordering from SFRC - I've ordered lots from them and have never been disappointed with the materials, communication or packaging. Their store is open 24-hours and that's what's important to me.

It's definitely not a sport for the impatient and it seems that all facets of firearms ownership are an exercise in "hurry-up and wait"; whether it be registering for a PAL course or joining a club and waiting for the safety course, or dealing with the CFO for an ATT or waiting for a transfer from the folks in Miramichi. Even waiting for a specific model of firearm to be in stock or available in Canada can seem excruciatingly long sometimes. Maybe it's part of a character-building experience that further allows us to take the time and focus, control our breathing and hit the target - who knows.

Have fun with your new toy.

And... Please let us know if he does in fact apologize to your wife. Disrespect to a man to his face is one thing, disrespecting someones family, a whole other thing.

It wasn't directed at my wife, just a generally rude email. She was just very upset when she read it

what i read outta this was someone wanting to save their own personal time by ordering through the internet, instead of taking the time and driving, failing to provide or take note of what info is needed, then being mad that it wasnt an immediate transaction...

cut sfrc some slack, seeing as its your first purchase on restricteds be ready to jump through alot of hoops sometimes but dont get mad at anyone... its just how it is and a part of this hobby

smile and have fun, happy shootin

SFRC has been awesome and absolutely hassle free for me.

If you don't know what info to send when buying a restricted, that is not SFRC's problem. Although they do have to take time out of their busy day to get you up to speed.

Also, if you think a pistol sale/transfer/ship is going to happen in a day or two...well, lol. My most recent pistol order took 1 week exact from money to transfer to ship to expected delivery. That is actually very quick.

What does this post even mean? Is it a ridiculous passive aggressive attack or a less than adequate apology?

Let's not all dogpile chameleon here - he basically admitted he was an impatient turd and was over-excited at the prospect of buying his first handgun.

Face to face is the way to go whenever possible IMHO. I went into my local gun store a couple of months ago, paid for a handgun at noon and got the call the paperwork was ready and I picked it up same day!

Ok if sfrc could ship a gun no paper work ect they might do it (if it was legal to do so) but put in transfer time cfo and other pain in the rear it all takes time...

If you don't like waiting I sugest you right to your mp and let them know you don't like waiting for your gun..

No kidding you're a noob at restricted firearms. Nothing is simple or quick with restricted.

Excitement is one thing, AND the one thing it's NOT is rude.

Slow down, learn all the rules, LEO don't care about your excitement.

AND enjoy your pistol, just got my 45ACP, luv it.

I'm going to lock this. Don't want this to turn into to much of s slag fest. Everyone, have a good night.
