Dug out an old themold mag or two for yesterdays testing. Haven't used one since about 1992. Three targets later, I remembered why.

Bring back memories for anyone?

Yeah they all do the same... They're meant to be shot once and tossed away I guess, if they don't break during the actual 28 rounds...

In my opinion, there are better looking options than those plastic mags too. Maybe it's just because I know they don't work, but I don't dig the look. Here are a few pics taken on the run to express my point of view:

Yop, I remember, when the lips break with a full mag, you pull it out than all the rounds end up all over the place...

Can't believe that some army are still using them in Afghanistan (Dutchs and danes)
They were sold with the C-7 they bought from Diemaco

I remember I had to Dremel the stupid mag well rim-thingy to make it fit in my old Olympic Arms lower. After all that work, the dumb thing broke like yours!

I sold all of them and bought new usgi mags with green followers. No problem since.

The first time I saw them was in '86 when the C7's were first shown to us in Germany, one of the guys seated a mag a bit too hard and a lip broke off then the mag emptied the live rounds out the ejection port. Needless to say we were all impressed with the new C7 that day. Luckily things have changed since then.

I love Thermolds...FOR TAKING PICTURES, they look good on camera but I had one let go on a run-down my first service conditions match.
Ha, that's what I do too.

I also keep the mag bodies and use them to keep dust out of the rifle during storage. Plus it looks good when showing the rifle to people and not worrying about having a functional mag in the rifle.
