from what i saw ya... i read that as long as it doesn't go semi auto they can have any gun they want with no mag restrictions... so straight pull bolt AKs and what not... all you gotta do is seal up the gas system or remove it on some of them.

It is, but I believe the general consensus was, if it accepts a standard AR upper, than it would be considered a variant (no matter how it looks or operates).
