Our general magazine restriction is for: semi-automatic, centre fire firearms only. 10 rounds for pistol, everything else 5 rounds. And the general interpretation is: what was the magazine designed for, is what the capacity limit will be.

This is interesting.
 
Problem of course for Canada is that the magazine cap rules would still apply.

It has been gone over countless times, it is not what the mag is used in, it is what it is designed for. This is the same rule that allows us to use LAR mags in rifles, but prohibits us from using full cap AR mags in any other action style.
