Just picked some of these up from a Vancouver gun shop. I'm not sure what brand they are, but if I would guess I would say KCI. The first time I went to use them, they wouldn't fit in my magwell without a good "rapp" on the bottom while I twisted them in. Also, from the pics you'll see some big discrepancy from the original Norinco mags that came with my rifle.

Exhibit A: Bad Mag on left and Norinco on right
You can see that the feed lips on the bad mag are much further ahead. They are also not straight. You can see how they go off at an outwards angle compared to the straight Norinco lips. My Norinco M305 was not able to pick up a single round from these mags without jamming.

Exhibit B: Bad Mag on left, Norinco on right.
The KCI has a much fatter front (hard to see), but this makes it hard to put into the mag well

Exhibit C: Bad Mag on top, Norinco on bottom
Easier to see the fat front. Also notice the feed lips

Exhibit D:
These mags are not internally limited and don't use a rivit. Instead they use this notch. I don't mind it except they are notched too high and make it really hard to put the mag in on a closed bolt. The Norincos have extra room which is nice.

Anyone know where I can get some good ones

Dlask arms had some CMI mags just recently. As good as it gets with 5rounds ;)
They were reasonably priced, you might want to call them. Weekdays noon to 4 pacific

I saw a bunch of these at a shop in vancouver. I was hunting around for norc mags and saw these. They're total junk. It's like driving through the downtown eastside of vancouver, if you see them, dont make eye contact!

wow $48. I guess that's the price to pay for quality! Might have to get 2.

Ive noticed this same issue in Ontario Ive bought 2 mags from a gun shop in London and both where just wrong... wont fit in my M1A without the force. and they don't feed very well at all

Bought two spare Norc mags ($39.95) with my rifle, they work great. Bought a KCI mag ($34.95) with my last ammo order and I've had nothing but issues with it. Limited to 5.0 not 5.5 so the top round requires a little (okay a more than a little) forward assist to chamber. The mag requires excessive force to lock into the gun, and the one FTF I've had was the last round on the mag the last time I used it. It looks remarkably like the OP's mag as far as limiting style goes, I'll look for the feed lip shape next time I have the mags at hand. I should have spent the extra $5.

if the mag lips are easily bendable, then the metal has not been properly heat treated.
the lips should be strong and "springy" rather than bend permanently under force.

Anyone have any experience with the 5/20 magazines that Marstar is selling? They have them listed as "in stock" at $35 apiece.

I bought 1 with a cleaning kit a while ago. Martar said it was made in usa, not chinese, but not USGI. I haven't used it yet, but the lips are bent wrong, compared to my 5/10 springfield factory mag.

wish i would have seem this thread two weeks agao. odered a mag from wolverine. couldn't insert it in the rifle. front too wide. sanded down the top outer edges. very tight but got it in.

then the tab is too high and cannot get it to lock in the mag catch. took off a slight bit so it would lock.

then the follower wont push up hard enough. if i insert a loaded mag on a open bolt, and tap it in, the rounds just pop out of the mag and lay in the chamber. polished the top edge of the follower and made it sort of work.

serious POS. a trusted name like wolverine shouldn't sell junk like this. now before all the haters start yelling at me, i understand fully that they would take back the mag if i asked. i didn't bother, not worth my time to ship it back. not their fault for a bad mag. not blaming them for the mag itself.

KCI = RUN AWAY

Ya man, this is definitely a mag that should be sent back to the scrap yard. I can't believe how terrible they are. Time to get some more Norincos...the internal limiters are nice.
