Looking to get my first pistol today. Was thinking of a G19 gen 5. Saw a few yesterday and today they’re gone! Hopefully Canadian retailers can still get more before Castreau’s “law” passes.

Hey man, its now or never. Thousands of south paws have been shooting gen 1-4 glocks with no issues. You could also try a Sig P320.

Almost any 19.5 in Canada was imported if I'm not mistaken. They're not common up here at all compared to the gen 4's. You may be waiting a very long time for one.

Honestly I had a G17.5 and sold it in favor of a Shadow Systems with no ambi slide stop.. as a lefty I actually prefer it that way now.

Can't ride the slide release with your thumb and not notice when your mag is empty cuz it should have locked the slide back but didn't cuz your thumb was sitting on it if it's on the other side.

I almost never use the slide release anyways, I'd rather just pull back on the slide and let 'er go. Overrated. Lol

Get an sfp9 they are ambi with the euro mag release, then you can heckle the poors, I ordered a 17.5 from Nordic, they have 1 sfp9 in stock ready for you! if the door is still open in a few weeks I might see if I can get one….

I managed to find the Glock I wanted. I missed the boat buying a Shadow 2 though, looks like everyone is sold out.

I never used the slide release on my G17. I was taught to "sling shot" the slide to chamber a round.

Buy the gen 4 or whatever you can get now. Soon you wont even have that option Time is not your friend. Im a lefty. As a lefty you learn to figure out the controls on a semi. Practice practice practice rince snd repeat.

19gen5 never reached canada for the civilian market ... as the g45. unless you imported it from the usa like some did here ...
