I'm planning to buy a new shotgun and I'm not sure how to check if that gun was ever fired. Never purchased new and wasn't sure if they come in a box, unopened.
What do you know about Prairie Gun Traders or Cabelas?

I have dealt with Prairie Gun Traders, and had no issues, but I generally deal with Prophet River or Bashaw Sports. I prefer to avoid dealing with Cabelas or Wholesale Sports. It is normal for the box to have been opened, so the firearm can be inspected, and firearms are normally test fired by the manufacturer.

I would worry more about fit them if it had a open box or been fired ,go to as many gun shops as you can and handle as many guns as you can ,when looking for a new shotgun ,close your eyes and mount the gun like you would if a bird was rising off of the floor in front of you, or ,pick a spot were the wall meets the roof once you have the gun up to your shoulder open your eyes and see how it fits .you may find you cannot see the bead or you will be way off of your point ,a shotgun should come up with out thinking about it and be on target ,and the only way to find out if thy fit is to handle the, Dutch
