You're wrong John... period. Read my posts on page one. With respect to ammunition, for non-automatic weapons and for personal use, up to 1,000 rounds without an export permit... for US Persons (citizens and / or legal residents). A little chapter and verse for ya'... ITAR 123.17E

Still I can't wait for tomorrows thread about someone asking about brings in ammo from the states and the ten people that claim it is all okay because Canada customs says so.

Word of advice. Don't take legal advice from people that don't carry guns.

Most Lawyers and Judges in Kanada, don't carry guns. Teh Interweb legal specialists we have on here, spend a lot more time with guns than the majority of that crowd.
If I wanted actual legal advice, it would likely cost $$$, and very likely come from someone without a gun.
The only time I take advice from someone carrying a gun, is when it happens to be pointed at me, in those cases, I'm very attentive

Hidding it was the WORST thing they could have done Even tho they were over the 1,000 round limit if they had said they have ____ amount of ammo they could have beent old to leave some of it there or w/e but def wouldn't be getting into all this #### for it.

The key point is the exemption is not for a true export per se, but for the persons own use in competition, hunting, etc.

US authorities should have just let Tweedledee and Tweedledumb proceed on their way, and tipped off the Mexican authorities about what they were carrying.
T&T would then wish they had been arrested on the US side. And beg to be deported.

the point of me posting this was to SHOW people that YES people DO get arrested for exporting ammo (if your leaving the usa its EXPORTING)

now by the story of hidden around the car these guys seem to me to be attempting to smuggle........but only a judge can decide that
