The standard X-5 in 9mm I've used, it's on the heavy side, for PPC though that might help. Definitely try handling one before you order one.
I can see some point to it for PPC because accuracy is more important than in IPSC.
What I did for IPSC was get a P226ST in .40 and replace the sights and do a trigger job on it, however I doubt it is as accurate as the X-5.
I have one of the old P226 Sport II SL pistols, which is the precursor to the gun you are interested in, same barrel, same trigger mech, all stainless and built in the same factory. It's an awesome gun, real tack driver, but it is very heavy. It has a 139mm barrel and I've been thinking of how to get my hands on a regular 112mm barrel for it.
The X-5 is even heavier!
My Sport II will hold the 10-ring of an NRA B-8 target at 25 yards off-hand from my hands using CCI Blazer 115gr. Obviously from a rest it would be even more accurate and no doubt there are more accurate loads.
