Thinking about getting into 3-Gun

And Galt's on August 29th! Lots of Multi-gun abound SW Ontario and vicinity.
I'm not too far from Galt. I don't see it listed on ipsc-matches site. how do you sign up? or do you have to be a member of the club to shoot? Can someone let me know I'd love to give it a try :)

Also in a 3 gun match do you use all 3 guns in the same day? or are they split and you only use 1 gun a certain day? how many stages?

What......and give up an advantage? Not likely.....AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:evil:

Your advantage is in your practice. Besides, everybody will know it after your first match, but at least now you can help others to save some money on buying the right equipment.

It is NOT an IPSC match and yes, you are use all 3 guns on one stage.

Yes, you use all 3 guns in one day, it can be either broken down into seperate stages for each gun or have a Rifle/ Pistol, Pistol/ Shotgun, Rifle/ Shotgun and Rifle/ Pistol/ Shotgun stage set up. It all depends on how evil minded the staged designer is.

IDPA? or is it a separate Discipline altogether? I'm pretty sure I've seen 3 gun IPSC matches listed online tho :/...

There are rules for Multi-Gun found in both IPSC and IDPA. The 3 gun club that I belong to, we are changing over to the USPSA Multi-gun Rules (allows for a little greater latitude in transistions).

We shoot ODPL @ Galt. Usually 3-5 stages shot in a single day, and they can be single to any combination of guns on a stage.

We have had all three on single stages (Handgun, Shotty & Carbine/rifle).
Example. Stage starts with holstered handgun and Shotgun. Use Shotgun, run Dry... Use Handgun, run dry, reach staged Rifle, complete stage. :)

To sign up, you show up. Not limited to club members. ODPL allows holders of BB, CDP, IDPA to compete as well as those under the MD's approval (Some of whom are guys who have participated in the Local action shooting scene for over a decade but belong to no org (IPSC, IDPA, etc...) Just pay the match fee, play safe, have fun (The basis of ODPL, safe & fun). Flyer will be posted for the match shortly.

silly question; what happens to the empty shotgun? do you take a break and walk way to put it away or is it all 'on the go'

On the go style. Show clear (visibly remove all cartridges/magazine and action open) to the RSO who will confirm clear and allow you to stow empty shotty/rifle at a dump point (or you can sling it, range/club allowing) and go on.

My newest kick is shooting clays (Must hit to proceed) with handgun at 15-25 yds.

IPSC has 3-gun (seperate stages for pistol, rifle and shotgun)

USPSA (and some clubs as mentioned in this thread) has Multi-gun (you use more than 1 gun in each stage)
