I live in Vancouver and was wondering what clubs hold rifle matches?

Is there a site? How many times a year do they happen? Is there a sanctioning body in BC?

Thanks in advance

What class would be good for a beginner with a bolt gun? Looking at the disiplines page they all seem very competitive! Where should I start?

TIA

If you're in the Vancouver area, you should get out to see the Mission Rod & Gun Club. A great 300M range, lots of good freindly shooting fellas that shoot F-class - which would be a great class for you to try with your rifle- and the range host several great shoots throughout the year. PoCo is a busy place with a 200 yd range, TMSA.org in Pitt Meadows is small but expensive (50 + 100 yd rifle but good pistol facilities)

If you'd like to jump in with both feet, come up to Kamloops in September and try the Frosty Farky 300M match. There is a post with some details on the sight plus you can check out ktsa.ca

There is also a monthly high power rifle match down at Custer that is pretty fun. They are big on iron sighted bolt guns down there and very welcoming to new shooters. The match descriptions vary a bit from what is described on the website. Taking guns south is very easy and there are far more opportunities to shoot matches down there.
