I am thinking of getting a TT-33, I've fired a few of them, but I only have a basic knowledge of them, I know they come in 9mm, but its not Russia, besides that I can not really tell the difference between then, also 7.62x25 or 9mm? That being asked I already own a Beretta 92.

I just picked up a Norinco Model 213 copy of the T-33 in 9mm, I believe this is the cheapest gun ever produced but it is a surprisingly tight little gun.

i piced one up from sfrc a few weeks ago, had it to the range last week. it's a nice shooting pistol.
you definately feel it when it shoots.

check out this video, if you haven't already:

they guys is a crack shot, and does a nice job on the tokarev review.

IMHO it's a great time to buy a Tok, you can go Russian with some history pre-war, wartime or post war production, or grab one of the Polish unissued mid 50's production Tokarevs for a basically new 55 year old pistol.

The thing about the 7.62 is that when they run out of ammo you are screwed.

If you do some searching here on cgn you'll find a thread with a youtube tutorial on how to resize and shape 5.56 brass into 7.62x25 for reloading.

It is fairly difficult to get one chambered in 9mm. But the 762 is such a great round and so cheap just go with it, IMO
T

It is not that difficult to get one chambered in 9 mm....Look for a Norinco 213.. Norinco 54-1....usually comes with both barrels ..7.62X25 and 9mm at least the one I bought did....the Tokagypt and the Hungarian Super 12....all in 9 mm or just buy a 9mm conversion barrel and a mag ...however you will pay more for the 9mm barrel and mag than you paid for the TT-33

I love Hickok's reviews. He doesn't seem like some ####### redneck that's in it for the sponsorships.

And yes, he's hitting that gong at 80yds with that bloody thing. He's a good shot.

If you're looking at TT's you might also want to check out the Norinco Type 54, it's a TT-33 clone chambered in the original 7.62x25, but at least you have a manufacturer to work with if there's a problem.

Couple guys at the range on saturday let me shoot theirs. I bought one from the same shop in the city as they did later that day :D

Might have been a buck or two cheaper from an out of province seller, but I got to pick a nice one rather than one with a ding or patch of rust on the slide, as some had.

Plus it's nice to support a new local business.

Thanks guys, im going to pick one up on my way home from the city. in the 7.62x25 should have some fun with it within a week.

This is the video that sold me on the Tokarev...If Bill Hickok likes it, its a decent firearm

I'll make you a deal you go buy a tt33 in x25 and keep it in good shape if the ammo ever runs out ill give you your 180 dollars back for the pistol as I'm sure by the time the ammo runs out the guns will double in value

If you reload, ammo won't ever be a problem. The non surplus ammo I have purchased have all had re-loadable brass. I have purchased non surplus manufactured by Winchester, Prvi Partiizan and Sellier and Bellot. Starline also makes brass for this calibre.

go to u tube ,converting 223 brass to 7.62x25 . u will never run out . it uses boxer primer =non corrosive . i use cast bullets out of wheel weights . it cheaper than mil surplus . lee makes the dies and bullet mold i think the mold is a 32 cal -311 . me and my buddy been that converted bass with no problems . he won't even look at the mil surplus becase he too lazy too clean his gun every time he shoots . haha that sounds like me tooo
