Thinking of buying a Rem Alaskan Ti in 25-06

I'm thinking if buying a Remington Alaskan Ti in 25-06. It will be used for deer, bear and the odd Coyote. Any thoughts, or opinions would be a great help!

I really like the 25-06. Mild recoil, flat shooting and will poke a hole through even a moose or elk's lungs. My dad shot his first Moose with one. I think it is a good, sensible choice.

thats the caliber i use for deer hunting .its great cant go wrong with it . i have it in a tikka t3 stainless .
 
As Bartell said "Great bang for the buck" I'm thinking I should be looking at a 25-06 in maybe a Ruger 77 Hawkeye. Save myself a butt load of money. I do own a Hawkeye in 30-06 and it will shoot half inch groups all day long with the right loads.
 
I gotta wonder what Remington was thinking when they discontinued the original Titanium 700 model, to replace it with this Alaskan Ti model. They added a heavier contour fluted barrel, a hinged floorplate, and a beefier stock. Price jumped $800 and weight went up a pound. The original Ti's were very popular, the Alaskan Ti is a huge flop - I don't even know of one guy on CGN who has bought one

a friend of mine actually bought one .i personally for the money would have got a weatherby ultralite in a 3006.

I love Remingtons, but no way I would ever fork over $2000+tax for a 700 with a Bell & Carlson stock. A guy can buy an XCR, rebarrel with a custom barrel, and drop it into a McMillan Edge for about the same $. Titanium is nice, but not that nice

I hear ya...the Ti receiver saves you about 4 ounces over a steel receiver....you can save 4 ounces somewhere else......I have two of the original Ti's (and always looking for more:)),..but I wouldn't pay what they want for the Alaskan model.....there are better deals for $2000....a few more bucks and you can get an HS rifle....or like tod says...get something built the way you want it...
 
I decided that spending that much money was crazy. I ended up buying a Remington 700 LSS in .257 Weatherby. It sure is a sweet looking rifle, thats for sure. I'll load some ammo up and let you know how it shoots this weekend.
 
Seen a new Ti advertised at Lebarons on their specials for 1174.00. Comes in 30-06. Probably sitting on the shelf for a while.
 
I went to Lebarons last Saturday to inquire about it. Of course I got the same answer as always. Sorry we don't have any, lol. Go figure. I picked up the 700 LSS at Epps.

That LSS is a nice rig. I get a kick out of the Remington description...

That LSS is a nice looking rifle. The .257 is great too. I have a Vanguard in .257 Roy and like calibre quite a bit. What did you mount on it for optics?
