Thinking of getting an M1A Springfield Loaded Advice?

I have only been shooting these rifles since the late 90's so what could I possibly know about them. Its your money, do what you want with it.

They don't care and don't want to listen. But WE hear ya. If that makes a difference....you can only do what you can do

Hey Guys, Strongly thinking of getting an M1A Loaded, what's the best option for purchase?? Is it better/cheaper to purchase one from Gunbrooker or Gunsamerica and bring in through someone like IRUNGUNS?? Any advice on what makes it the môst affordable option appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

That is exactly what I was thinking. Its a lot more morey than a norinco but after what I have experienced first hand it is a better rifle BUT spending 2500 plus dollars on a higher end springfield for example, you are not getting that much more. The loaded has the match trigger, barrell, sights. its a few hundred more than the standard springfield but hundreds more less than say the scout or socom version. The Loaded is really right in the middle of everything. Best bang for your buck as far as M14's go

Have one built. LRB M25 receiver, NM barrel, NM sites, usgi parts & wood stock is the way to go I think! ;)

Creedmore Sports currently has the M1A National Match on sale @ $1800. Might be worth having one imported.

My dream M14....a Springfield M1A Loaded Walnut, stainless NM barrel. Absolutely beautiful....sporting a leather SA sling, NM front sight, Winchester USA 147 gr. FMJ BT ....a match made in heaven. The M1A Loaded Walnut ;)

$2,500.00 NIB probably.

Those rifles at 2500.00 are worth every penny, like i always say, the first one you find expensive, the second one you find so goood... JP.

A loaded walnut for $2500 is not a deal.
Irunguns has the National Match for $2400.00USD.
Add about 12% exchange which is what your credit card will charge then another $25 for shipping from US to Canada then another $50 or so to ship it to you.

That's about 350 more than I paid for my M1A National Match from Prophet River several months ago.
I have put nearly 400 rounds through this rifle and it shoots like a dream.
I brought it to one of Hungry's clinics and the only thing that it needed was a little tweaking of the gas lock.
I purchased another one that fit from Barney since I wanted to keep the original.
My total cost was a whole $12.00.

I looked at getting an LRB National Match but the cost to my door was very close to $4,000.00.
I am not saying that my SAI's cast receiver is as strong as the forged LRB but 99.999% of all SAI receivers are running strong and backed by their lifetime warranty.

There is no question that SAI's forged bolts are up to snuff and if I happen to bend an OP rod or something I can either send it in for warranty or buy a USGI. One for a few hundred dollars.

Shameless Springfield Armory plug.

So $2199.00 USD = $2462.88 + $25.00 shipping to Canada + let's assume $75.00 shipping to the majors with insurance since irunguns clearly states that they are not responsible for the firearm once they give it to the shipper. You are now at 2562.88 add 5%gst and the total to your door is 2691.02

My exact total to my door from Prophet River was $2555.12

I guess you can't wrap your head around the fact that the Canadian dollar is nearly $0.12 lower when you include exchange fees.
Why doesn't irunguns just use canadian pricing on their Canadian site so people can make an apples to apples comparison?

Just went through this exercise and was really torn between the SAI NM and the SAI Loaded. I'd had a loaded before and, of course, liked it very much ! This time around I actually ordered another Loaded only to change the order to a NM this morning! Now why the upsell ? For me it came down to two things: bedding ( which I could do myself ) and NM gas system ( which I can't do myself ).

For me this will be the ninth ( or tenth ) M14-style rifle and the second M1A - yes, I know, I should have ordered a LRB on day one and stopped there LOL!

OP - I wrote this a while ago but you may not have seen it : http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/526433-A-Review-of-3-M14-Type-Rifles

I corrected your price :) Prophet River don't have a competitive price. Sorry , if it' s hurt you.

Don't want a wood stock, NM is useless for me :) Loaded is better, for my usage at 1537$
