What do you boys think something like that is valued at?

I agree, $1400 is fair in a normal market...

Today however, AR's are worth whatever people are willing to pay. There are next to none available in the states, and no sign of stocks rebuilding anytime soon. So don't be shocked when people start asking for top dollar.

nice looking rifle.
heres some quick ballparks of cost (double check,.i could have some mistakes). if there was a price range i used the red number.

midwest free float quad rail- 12.5" - $160
14.5" barrel - $250-350 depending on brand..if norc..$150
ergo grip - $30
stubby pistol grip - $30
Magpul MBUS pop up front and rear sights - real $80 fake $10
Young Manufacturing chrome bolt carrier$250+
spikes tactical lower - $300 - aero apparently makes them and aero is 300 complete
aero upper - $125-180 stripped uppers arent much $...you can get a DD for $160..when they are in stock.
sight mark red dot - $50
---------------------------
$1275
-----------------
3 mags - $30 each - if magpul hard to find - so give or take$$.
AR wrench - $45
spare black grip - $12
AR magwell block - $0 - who wants that?
Quad rail covers - dont know

that sight is dirt cheap, i looked into it for something else just to try and some of the reviews i read said when you turn it off it looses is 0 but some said it was ok. i still may grab one to try out.

Thanks for the parts break down.

I was looking to trade one of my precision rifles that I put a value of around $1400 towards a trade for an AR. This was one of the offers I received.

Why are you asking here? The seller will advise what he/she is asking and if you disagree, don't insult them with a lo-ball, just move on to the next AR sale that tickles your fancy. That is the classy move.

In the USA the P-Mags are worth $200 alone.

Probably because the new AWB is likely to include a 5 round mag limit like here except without the rivet. They will have to be MADE that way. It will be interesting to see if owners will be required to turn in their legacy magazines if an SWB passes...?

They aren't asking a price they are offering it for trade for one of my rifles. I'm asking on if the build are parts of said build are decent.

IMHO the parts I can discern look decent. It's not a bad build and the guestimates of parts cost, used prices, are about right. IT would cost more to build, of course, because the prices would be a little higher new and there's tax and multiple shipping charges to consider, but that's the seller's problem, not yours.

just looked at your savage listing...also very nice rifle.
so your rifle looks to be all factory msrp $1250 with a Millet scope, bag and a $50 bipod.
the millet scope is your most valuable add on, and i looked at one in a store and wasnt impressed.(but i was looking at getting a leupold and/or Nikon...didnt get 1 yet..i need 2 scopes eventually)
your savage will probably be a lot more accurate, but i think trading it for something better than this offer may be hard... its going to come down to its condition and what barrel he put in it. (ask what barrel it is, that could affect my guesstimate by another $200
probably not a bad offer.

Without taxes or shipping my rifle breaks down to:

$1100 for the rifle
$600 for the scope
$85 for the bag/mat
$120 for the bipod

granted those are brand new prices and the rifle is used as stated in my ad. I think if the barrel isn't a Norinco I'll probably make the deal and ship this rifle off across Canada!

well i was off on my estimates on the bipod..my bad. didnt see what brand it was.
in that case, keep your bag...ship/trade it in a box.
i may have been looking at a different model of the millet.. it had a 1" tube and came with its own rings..cant remember much else because it wasnt even within the specs of what i wanted, the guy just handed it to me to look at.

The scope on the rifle is the Millet LRS (Long Range Scope) 6-25x56mm with a unique 35mm tube. It came with the rings provided luckily since 35mm rings are like hen's teeth :D

I wanted a good magnification scope, with a mildot, and a side mounted parallax knob. The glass on my Millett is really nice even up to high magnifications. I am quite happy with it.
