So I have a Mini-14 that I'm not totally pleased with, nothing wrong with the gun just doesn't seem to fit with me. I cant find magazines, its heavy, needs a sling but doesn't have swivels and not simple to add. Semi auto just doesn't seem to be my thing either, I'd rather shoot accurate than fast.

The mvp seems like a better fit for what i want. I want something I can carry, 223 for cheapish ammunition, availability of magazines (AR and LAR) and something fairly accurate.

My mini-14 is the target version with the Laminate stock with a 3-9x40 nikon prostaff with BDC reticle probably only around 60 rounds thru it. Anybody feel they should talk me out of this? If not what price range should I be asking with and without the scope?

I just sold my mini 14 target for $850 shipped without optic.... I'd get a CZ 527 instead of the Mossberg. or a Remington 5R if you can spend a bit more on top of what your mini is worth.

Irunguns has mini 14 mags. Are you shooting 5.56mm in your target model or strictly .223? The target model is designed for .223 only while the ranch model shoots both. Also make sure it's greased and the gas block is properly and evenly torqued.
