So I put a 12.5 inch dlask barrel on my wifes 10/22 and ordered her a sweet boyds stock along with it for Christmas a couple years ago and now I've found myself drooling over the 12.5 grey birch solutions carbon fibre barrel.. trying to justify replacing my factory 16.1 hammer forged bull barred( the one with the fancy spiraling).. it will definitely make the rifle a bit lighter and I do carry it alot of kilometers every year hunting birds and rabbits so that will definitely be nice. Also will be alot easier to have it in the front seat of the truck with me while in the truck while on route to my hiking trails.. questions I have are does anybody have experience with these grey birch barrels? Hows the accuracy? My factory bull barrel shoots mini mags in 1/2" groups at 25 yards with ease, even smaller if I really take my time. Also what could I expect to sell my factory barrel for? Has a bit of bluing loss on the very edge of the muzzle end of the barrel and has had a couple spots of surface rust start on the top under the scope a couple times but has been cleaned and oiled right away cant really notice it unless you really look for it.. overall looks in very good condition, super accurate with a few thousand rounds through it and has killed a couple hundred ruffed grouse..

If your on a budget shooting with limited funds, keep and shoot what you have. If money is no object go full out. In the end have fun.

If you're looking for something a bit more tolerant to bumps and field use, you could consider a fluted Green Mountain barrel like the fluted stainless sporter barrel (model 901775). I put one on my TUF-22 build and it's worked out nicely. It has comparable weight to some of the carbon-sleeved options out there and shoots very well (~0.6" t 50yds) with CCI SV if I do my bit.

I planned to use it shooting with various barricades/supports and was concerned that a carbon-sleeved barrel would get torn up a bit too much for my liking.

Good luck in your search.

I don’t have any experience with Grey Birch Solutions barrels. They are pretty new so it will be hard to find good info.

The Kidd Ultralight fits your description though. Dlask has one in stock. I couldn’t be happier with mine. Extremely accurate and very lightweight.
