Thinking on an mdt chassis for my tikka ctr, anyone running one?

Wait until black friday to buy it. That's the only time per year they have sales and the discount is deep. You'll have to be up early because quantities are limited for their sale.

Last year I bought $1300 worth of chassis/Mags/rings for $700.

Great idea. I am in no hurry so can wait till the sale.

Make sure you are ready to go on the sale. It will go live at 3:00 PM Pacific time and factory seconds (usually where the deepest discounts are) are first come first serve. Check out as soon as you have one in your cart. If you need to make multiple orders, we can always combine shipping after the fact.

Well I got half the chassis(rest should be here friday)! And the mags too! It seems the tikka action is made for this chassis and the mags, huge margins as far as feeding ect, with no need to tune the feed lips ect at all.

I'm wondering what mlock slot coveres would work be best to keep my hands off the cold aluminum in winter though?

I finally got mine out to shoot this morning! Its soooo comfortable lol
Definitely need to invest in something that would keep the hands warm, I am going to try slot covers. I imagine they should do the trick.

Ya I thought about spraying the outside of my chassis with spray cork. I'm going to plasti-dip spray it just for this winter then see what I can do about the cork. Aluminum is way too cold in winter.

Finaly got the new setup out on the weekend, ran 110rds through it. Oh and and a newb question on muzzle brakes. Do they effect point of impact, and accuracy at all? I'm really happy how my ctr has always sent various rounds into almost the same area at 100yards, and dont want that to change.

some pics and a borring vid to follow. so far so good, a few things need a bit of improving but its something that will work for sure. The mag relese pin, and the cutout for the bolt stop pin is too deep, made a new pin that has about 3x more retaining force and filled the cutout with some silicone I am using there non binding plate mags so i can keep my oal the same as the oe ctr setup. pics are 50 rds worth of groups fired at a fairly steady pace. The first group is from a clean and lightly oiled bore, first shot was over an inch low. The gun shot about an inch low from the old stock(was a 175yard zero, now its bang on at 100) ammo was a mixture of 180 grain nozzleler balistic tips over 44 or 45 grains of rl15(accidentally had two different charge weights in this batch of 100) full length resized norma once fired brass I bought years ago. If I can get some elx x and matches to shoot as good I'll be set(one test group in the center is the 195 eld match)

The paint on the thing is a bit thin, If this is cerakote..... than it's not something I'd ever pay to have done lol.
