This is it, the final poll of pick the best civil war handgun/ pistol of the American Civil War. Its down to two, the Remington and the Colt. Cause there are only two guns, and if it was three guns itwould be only one vote, as its the finall poll. wait till I do the cannon one, first poll of that will give you the opition of voting for more than one, as there where smooth bore, riflied, and breach loaders.


I voted Colt, its a more attractive gun, has the lines, the Rem always looks to modern for me.

Fact. After the civil war, soldiers were given the option to purchase their handgun.
The Remington won by a large majority.

A poll on SAA Colt Vers Remington 1875 would be intresting,
I Know Colt would win but only cause so few have used a real Remington 1875
I have both and prefer the 1875 tho i gota say its not and easy choice.

If i was running out the door and could only take one handgun Remington 1875 would be the gun.

if i had a 1860 colt and a soild frame Remy the Remy would win again.
