This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

I bought 4 bricks of american eagle yesterday at under $25 a brick. There were still 5 bricks left. I also bought 2 bricks of winchester 555 for $35 a brick at a different location.
This 22 lr shortage at least in Alberta is overrated. Some local gunstores are charging unheard of prices I dont shop there anymore because they are gouging you.

You have to get away from the city and find some country stores. They have some stock at decent prices still But some are just retarded . I think the average will be $40 for 500rds. I have been picking up stock from various stores. Anywhere from $26-42 for 500rds . The hmr17 has been from $125.-145 for 500rds.

Where at?!

Like conrad01 said check your local UFA and Home Hardware stores I got the american eagle at UFA. They get em in every 3 months it seems and their prices so far havent gone up.
Check the small towns most co ops and home hardwares I've been to lately have the winchester 222,333,and 555 stuff some are priced better then others though. Even red deer UFA had some last time I was there

At the spruce grove gun show in alberta some guy was selling American Eagle bricks for 55 dollars.... wholesale sells it for 40 and like you said ufa 25 bucks. People are getting rich from 22lr these days

35 for a brick ......

At Bass Pro Vaughan this morning.

Federal Champion Blue Box - 50's (Forgot to check price). 20 boxes

Federal Automatch 325's - $21.99. Maybe 50 to 60 boxes

CCI Standard Velocity 50's - $4.19. Maybe 3 or 4 bricks worth.

Purchase limits (4 x 50, or 1 x Bulk Pack) still in effect.

I've actually stopped buying .22lr. The prices around Ottawa have gotten a little out of hand. I've got enough to last me for several years with my personal rimfire shooting habits. I set aside a few bricks to fart around with this summer, but the rest is in a wooden cabinet in my basement. I've actually been stocking up on 9mm and .40. These two calibers are starting to sneak up in price as well. Times they are a' changin' fellas

I picked up a brick this morning at the hardware store. I could have completely robbed them. Got the brick, brought it to the counter, and grabbed a pack of bic lighters. She scanned it and says "Your total is $10.64." I was honest though and told her she made a mistake. Their code scanner only did a 50 round box of .22 not ten of them. My good deed for today.

Good on you it always pays to be honest. I've had numerous times where they made a mistake at the till and I pointed it out. What goes around comes around.

Peavey mart has remington thunderbolts on sale for 29.99 a brick. I know not the best ammo or price but hey if you need ammo bad enough lol I only bough 250 rounds. As I'm sitting on enough ammo for my needs

Yeah, I've been stocking up on othe calibers too.

Maybe it's just the shops around here, but I'm starting to see the same thing happening with the 9mm that happened in the early days of the .22lr shortage.
