I think the UK proximity to the extremely flush (and much higher quality) rimfire match ammunition has much to do with a healthy competitive marketplace.

American ammunition manufacturers have ignored the lowly 22 to them, (in match format) for many decades.
The last time Federal coughed up anything half way decent, was just prior to the Olympics in Los Angeles.

Games all over, back to the junk once again! Gopher bullets for North Americans and that's all folks, and poor effing Canucks will buy it at their retail prices. Serious match users all buy: Eley, SK, Lapua, RWS. Not one American name brand right here??

that makes complete sense. after all, people in the US only shoot rimfire when the olympics are on. in addition, people only watch the olympics when its taking place in their own country. why would they make competition ammo if it isnt from a marketing perspective.

Just got back from Sail in Burlington; they have boxes and boxes of 555 packs...at $39.99 each. I make that $0.08 per round after taxes.

They also had a sign saying "two box limit per customer". I left without buying a thing.

I believe they also had CCI in stock, but I don't know anything about that type so call before making a drive. It may have been shorts or something such.

I just bought a brick of Winchester Wildcat .22 LR for less than 4 dollars. Yes that's right an entire brick 500 round less than 4 dollars.

Was in regina last weekend and wss was limiting the purchase to 2 boxes. In fact all their ammo other than shotgun shells was behind the counter. They really tried to sell me a gun though. Didn't make much sense if I couldn't get the shells for it.

Just at a small Co-Op, had 6 cases of 555, at 300 case. 30 a brick. Did not get any, a few bricks of Yellowjackets at 75.
