This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

Came across a couple of boxes of Winchester 222 the other day. Never used them before but as I can't find any Federal 525 bulk I took a couple of boxes home. Quite surprised how rough looking this Winchester bullet is. Are they any good for plinking/offhand practice with bolt action CZs?

They are the same as 333/555 boxes. My 452 shoots them exceptionally well. Groups hover around .5" and smaller at 50 yards. That round makes a hell of a smack when it hits a nice fat gopher as well. I think these and mini mag hp are my fav 22lr rounds.

How a lowly clerk at a CT store is to know this is beyond me. Considering none of the respected CGN retailers have indicated as such, I'm skeptical of his claim.
 
wholesale sports just had a bunch of CCI and Blazer before new years. I paid shipping, but it was actually more reasonable than a lot of retailers for some reason.

That sounds promising...maybe I should pick up a couple of more boxes.
 
What should the going price be for cci low velocity 22. And rws match grade.22lr

Dealer me says he had some. Don't wanna go in and expect sky high prices

Expect sky high prices then when you get there and it isn't $50 per 50 rounds you will be shocked at the deal you are getting.
 
With this apparent shortage, I'm surprised that there hasn't been more mention of reloading. Looks like a real pain to do, but if you're out of options..
 
I agree, haven't seen any in the big box stores but they show up in one LGS or another every now and then. The Standard Velocity, on the other hand, I haven't come across in well over a year.

No shortage this side of the Rockies. Got two 500 round bulk packs of Winchester dynapoints, one box of 333 Win, and a few boxes of subsonics at CT in North Van this aft...
They had lots of everything left. (Except CCI).
 
If one of our CGN retailers held a booking sale for CCI (or any other for that matter), I'm sure they could secure a volume that would net them a very reasonable cost and potentially even better margins. CanadaAmmo, are you listening?
 
Picked up 2 "bricks" of Winchester 333 yesterday at a lonely gas station in the Southeast part of MB for $28.99. Checked Cabela's earlier that day and they had absolutely zero rounds of any 22s.
