Ok guys, I need help with this ammo.

When there was NONE to be found anywhere, wholesale sports had this stuff brought in. One shipment only, and I was told by the counter attendant that it came from Australia, or the UK somewhere. I can't remember exactly.

However, now that I actually have 2 great shooting 10/22'S that cycle subs, I'm looking for more. The fact that they are 42 grain and have MASSIVE hollow points, I wanna find some before spring to see what the will do to the gophers. I feel they would lay a wicked smackin' on them.

Unfortunately I only grabbed a couple boxes back then and never really cared what I plinked with as nobody was able to be picky with what they could find. But now I wanna give it a sit down and see the accuracy of them as my one 10/22 shoots amazing with cci sv I feel it would do good with these too.

If you've used them or know where they might be able to be found please let me know.

And here you see the HP comparison with cci mini mag.

Still have a few boxes I bought in Red Deer at the Sportsman's Den but that was a year ago. Last time I was there, over 6 monthes ago, cant remember seeing any but then wasnt looking for them.

I used a lot of the 40 grain subsonic winchester when I lived in New Zealand. They worked very well in my suppressed 10-22 (sold the suppressor before returning to Canada). Possums and rabbits made a satisfying sound when hit.

How effective are those at 50 or 100 yards when compared to regular hi velocity HP's?? Sure they look like they would open up nice, but........

No idea where to find those (I'd never even heard of them) but I bought a Waltz die kit for modifying any 22lr ammo into a gaping, hollow-point. The main goal~TO make gopher-destroyers out of whatever my CZ shoots best. :)

I live in S. Ontario BTW...so I have to bring my love to the gophers if I want to test this stuff out. :)

I just picked up some at Cabelas Edmonton North they look the same but 1320 FPS. They "had" quite a bit of stock yesterday when I was there ;)
The ones I got aren't subsonic same grain and hollow point as well.

subsonics are genneraly un impressive on gophers, but this would be a great 'pest' conrtoll round for the .22lr. even not suppressed sub sonics are less loud especialy in 20" + bbls. my heavy bbl 10/22 cycles 38 grain rem sub sonics, but rounds like cci standard(sub sonic in my rifle) are to0 tight in the chamber:(

I think I am gonna pick up a .300 aac blackout bolt action(likely ruger american) just for the heck of it if I can track one down...

I picked up a brick as soon as I seen them at Cabelas. I tried them out at the range, and I must say I'm impressed!!!! My custom 10/22 loved em, and grouped exceptionally well!!!! Expensive though... $129 for 500rds....

WAIT A MINUTE..... Your pic says 1065fps....... Mine say 42g Power Point 1320fps...........( my bad.... guess I picked up a different brick.... sorry )

I did the same thing :) but I'm happy with them!

Yeah I've seen them hyper velocity ones. Usually in the red plastic packs if I'm not mistaken. My 10/22 shoots cci sv exceptionally well, and I want to try out other standard or subsonic loads as I haven't yet.

Even if they aren't super devastating on gophers I'd still use them over any round nosed subsonicS or standard vel. And it may just help not scare them off as fast so I could up the count. Next spring of course..... sigh.....

A while back I was having a hard time finding CCI SV, down to my last 1k or so. I stumbled across 800 or so CCI subsonic HPs, I found they shot to the same POI as my SVs with almost the same groups out of my savage BV. Around MOA. Of course I've never seen any since, and that was around 2 years ago
