I think an distressed stock could look really good, but the grain in that one looks fake... is that synthetic wood? It is an odd choice to combine the distressed wood "look" with a modern thumbhole design... I think it would be better paired with a classic stock design.

Agreed, if in fact it is synthetic I think they missed the mark.

I don't know about wanting to make a stock look like that. I have a .22 that has a stock that is starting to look like that and I want to replace it.
