I can't find anything specifically on what material can be used or how aggressive grip texture is so I assume the answer is a YES?

You'll be fine. I just finished my 2nd season using the Lok palmswell bogies on my shadow 2.

I also have the LOK Palm Swell Bogies for shooting production, no issues.

I ran the LOK palm swell bogies Shadow2 on my S2 at Nationals this year in production, no problem. They aren't as flashy as those sweet inlay multi-color designs, not sure if that makes any difference. Might run you afoul of the 'no painting' rule.
