i don't know if this has been posted before or if it is happening country wide or just here in New Brunswick but out here the RCMP have re-classified two rifles into the prohibited class. first being the Armi Jager AP 80 .22cal. reason for the re-classification is that it resembles the AK family too much, even though it shares absolutly no internal or external parts with the AK family of firarms. (if i am wrong about the external please feel free to correct me!)

second rifle is the Walther G22 .22cal. reason for this re-classification is that it has a removeable bull-pup style stock.

i honestly do not understand how they can get away with this crap! it angers me to know that the national police force doesn't care about the drug trafficers or human trafficers. they only care about screwing smart, law-abiding gun-owners that wanted a cool (or ugly, depending on your view) looking, cheap to shoot .22cal firearm! unreal!

This is not a free country.
It's a freaken 22 who cares what it looks like.

So by this, if I made this 22 in this shape they would freak out and ban it because it "looks" powerful.

Next, I will be banned from wearing short sleeve shirts because I look bad ass- no guns in public?

Call your MP i will be calling mine on monday about this and several other things. In my opinion their should be an independent review board, the RCMP should not have final say in any changes.

My wife says that because she has a nose, a mouth, two arms, and two legs, therefore she must be an "unnamed variant" of Jeffrey Dahmer. The fact that they're different ###es, different ages, live in different countries, and have never met, is immaterial.

She's expecting to be re-classified any day now (she must have been mis-classified at birth, when she was registered as non-dangerous) as a serial killer...

Ummm...theres like 8 multi-page threads on this topic, two more surrounding the court cases on said topics, as well as multiple advisory threads from the orgs.

Maybe spend a little more time reading the important forums?

This may be true but if you don't know where to look exactly it can take quite a while to come across a post. And the search engine often doesn't help. I've been guilty of this myself a few times :) TC

I wonder if they are going to do this with the Armi Jager AP 76 .22 because it looks too much like an AR?

Hey now, you can't register a serial killer.. they have rights

I feel for you. My Squires Bingham AK22 was deemed 12.6 soon after the registry opened. It did sit in registration limbo under "pending" for almost 4 years...just silly politics IMO.
The post on my issue:

Milarm is "holding" mine under their prohibited status (officially on consignment, but not advertised) to be returned to me on good faith if this gets sorted out one day. Cudo's to Alan and Gord at Milarm for helping me out.

If you get a #99 Oilers jersey and a stick and skates... Gretzky variant!
#23 Bulls jersey and some Nike... Jordan variant!
Total BS!

I don't think they will, the Mossberg Tactical is not an AR variant. It's just a Plinkster 702 clad in plastic.

the AP80 isnt a damn AK either.... They are basically saying "oops" we made a mistake on this one earlier, prohibit it.

They are getting away with it which means later,.... "oops" insert firearm here, We made a mistake, ban it now.

This is abusive bulls**t at its worst and they will continue to use it to screw us.

It a crime , when goverments take private property of individuals in for destruction! But since there in power it is reasonable they think ! I wish everyone with a Walther G22 to fight this illegal act of theft, good luck, DZ!
