This is supposed to be a Norinco 1911A1. Sold through the german importer, Norconia, it may be something you haven't seen yet.
It's stainless steel.
Yup, not chrome or nickel. it's officially imported here in Italy as a all-stainless steel gun.

Matter is, the picture is from the auction I'd like to bid on..
Anybody has ever had any feedback about SS Norinco 1911A1s?
CGN has been a GREAT source for searching info about classic carbon steel models, but this one... how will it be?

It's not a Norinco.... It's a norcnia ( I think). German (again, I think) not chinese.

It is a Norinco, made for the German market and sold under the "Noconia" moniker. It works as any other Norinco 1911, which is pretty good for the money.

I'm not sure I'm keen on the finish though...kinda pimpin'.

Marstar had some awhile ago, they were listed as Nickle Plated, what I find interesting is how close the serial numbers are between the one the OP shows and the one on Marstars Sight. Must have been a very small run of these.

they were produced by Norinco for "Frankonia" a well known German hunting and shooting sports accessory retailer.
it is definitely not stainless. Marstar sold some about a year ago and advertised them a s nickel plated.
BTW they sold very quickly...

Yup, the Marstar Norconias were production overruns/surplus of the guns destined for Germany. There is/was one on EE for 400 bucks, I think.

Not a bad deal. Nickel plating may not be as hard and durable as hard chrome, but it sure is pretty if you like bling.

Er... bling's just not my cup of tea.
Having been stainless, I may have taken into consideration leaving the sides polished and glass beading the rounds.

Nevermind.. the quest continues!

I'm generally not big on nickeled handguns, expecially 1911's, but this one is kinda cool. I'd change out the black parts for stainless ones, get rid of the big ass mag release button, and the lame Norc wraparound grips for a nice set of double diamond hardwoods or black G10 grips, though.
