So the Canadian Government (through the Canadian Military) is now bragging that their individual members are making illegal Prohibited Firearms (replicas)... someone screwed up on this one.

By all definitions that "item" is an illegal replica classified as "Prohibited" under the firearms act. No different than someone making a plastic replica, except it's out of wood. The level of detail is fantastic and he is quite a talented fellow... which only goes to show how ludicrous our laws are that his masterpiece is considered an illegal "Prohibited" item in Canada.

Good thing he's giving it to the mess but I suspect his plan to "take it with him when he retires" is going to be a problem... possession of that item would result in charges... at least it better otherwise there's a dual standard being shown by our government and by the police enforcing the laws.

Going to be embarrasing for everyone when the police come to arrest him and seize the "Prohibited" firearm that he produced.

I can't wait to see how our Conservative governement reacts to this one... or better yet, can't wait to see the Liberals demanding the arrest of this poor fellow.

It's just crazy.

I can't wait to see public reaction! One very good Public reason to scrap C-68.

Very talented indeed. I wonder if there is an AK version out there.

You mean like this?

One might be able to argue that due to the natural wood color it isn't a replica. There is that specific exemption, meant to be applied to toy guns.

Now if he painted it black, all bets are off and that thing is 100% illegal.
