Came across this Kodiak SKS on tenda. Seems really nice. What is your thought on it?

These are no longer being produced i believe?
Anyway from what I seen of them they were ok but a real pain to take down and clean if you shoot corrosive ammo

I think its a terrible attempt at a great idea.

No reason a company couldnt make a new chassis for a mag-fed SKS that looks like another firearm and performs well.

Pick up one, couldn’t drop it fast enough. There is a member here that built what I thought was the nicest sks I’ve ever seen. Think his name was dmitri (probably mis-spelled). Believe it had a choate stock, and scope mount. Stock was partially painted. It was super well done in my book. I think you could build your own cheaper and better.

God damn, why can’t this thing just die already. I feel like I need to bleach my eyes every time. Fugly is being generous

I almost bought one but decided not to once I found out what an abortion it is to disassemble it. The SKS is supposed to be easy to disassemble for cleaning and maintenance. The SKS 15 adds an unnecessary, time-consuming series of steps for disassembly that requires FOUR (4) different kinds of hex wrenches. Here is a video demonstrating the take-down procedure (apologies in advance for the 5hitty, obnoxious music the video's creator has blaring in the background):

I handled one once. Price was kind of okay, $850 but I did not like it, some are asking over $1K which is way too much. I would rather put a fab defense stock and a Wartak rail on a SKS.

please, this i an imperfect attempt.my purchase was a waste of money .i must have got in on a bad lot.feed ramp catches every 3rd or second round.a little to much grinding i think.straight mags do not like 7.62x39 ammo.stovepiper.

its actually pretty easy if you put a little baggie of the right bits in your rangebox/toolbox .... it only takes 2 minutes to take the screws out..... then you clean it like an sks..... trade out the stock and the grip, the magpul fixed stock works and looks way better, and the chubby magpul beavertail grip fits nice....... the 10 round mags like 8 rounds really .... was a good deal to be had when they went clearance for 600....... the biggest peeve is stripping the allenhead screws ..... kodiak can be gracious enough to send you a replacement bag if you ask......
