Theres been lots of dump cats. Small game has been hit hard past few years.
Managed to get a snowshoe further down the road this morning with the marlin 60. Heavy bush whacking. Stalk and spot through willows

My hunting partner is getting old. Usually stays home but I brought him today. Had to carry this old doggo back haha

Yeah. Bestfriend for sure but unfortunately our time together is coming to an end. Went to a few vets and theres nothing they can do

Ya my Yellow Lab kept Kicking till 14 years old. He was loosing balance and falling over. Summer months were hard on him couldnt breathe when out for a walk and would fall over. We took him in was sad for sure .

Good hunting and nice looking Dog . a friend of mine is a Vet and he told me one time this couple brought their dog in and it only had a few month left so they were told . he put it on a Ketogenetic diet. high fat medium protein low carb or no carb diet . sorry I can't remember the total details and this dog lived over 2 more years . my friend has been a Vet for over 50 years . he looks like a true friend .

Congrats on the wabbit! One wabbit is better than no wabbit. Rabbits/Hares fluctuate from time to time, along with grouse in the boreal forest areas. I hunt whitetail in the Northern Alberta forest and witness fluctuations. HOWEVER, this year more sign of hare activity and less Lynx sightings, because the local trapper has been busy. I know last year he trapped 7 wolves, but it's mostly the lynx who are feeding off the hares.

Would you mind if I contacted your friend?

Yeah we've always has natural predators in the area but there was a crazy cat lady. Mnr took over 100 cats from her. They bred, became feral dump cats and it's a serious issue. I've got over 20 different cats on my trail cameras within a 80 acre lot

Ide switch from rabbit hunting to feral cat hunting if they were that bad in my backyard

My Catahoula crossed the Rainbow Bridge 3 weeks ago. He actually made it to 15. I'm sad for you, believe me. We couldn't take it here with no dog. Just adopted a 6-year-old Shepherd with anxiety and health issues. No one wanted her. She doesn't even know how to walk on a leash. Going to take a lot of patience and a lot of love.

I had a nice heinz for 17 years. Got him on the local Rez when he was about 6 months. Not good for much, but very clean and well behaved. He had one porcupine quill in the tip of his nose when he first showed up at our cabin, and never got another. He would bark and keep his distance when he found one when we were hunting or just out and about. He was a hell of good friend. He was about 13 1/2 when we had our first little girl and wondered how he would take it. We got him to come into the baby's room, took her out of the crib and let him sniff her. We talked to him quietly while he was checking her out. Never had a problem.

I feel for you, knowing that his time is running short. My old guy just disappeared. I had him out for a walk one winter afternoon, we came home and I guess I hadn't let him in the house. Never saw him again. I figure he must have gone straight to dog heaven. :)
