Well at age 55 I still get excited with the anticipation of getting ready for my annual three week deer hunting trips. September and October are good months for the bow and bird hunters, but when the last week of October arrives I start packing my gear for November and this is when I really start getting excited!!! Only hunters can relate to the feeling of anticipation, excitement and dreams of big bucks.

My first stop is Slave Lake for a 12 day whitetail hunt and then off to northern Saskatchewan for a one week whitetail hunt. After several calls to Game Wardens and land owners in each province I was informed that this year there is quality and quanity of those ellusive cunning creatures................to me a deer hunters deer.

Anyway, good luck to all of you whitetail fanatics, et al!!!

Ya I understand that completely, I'm in northern Saskatchewan and there are lots of beauty's this year up here. We had a very mild winter last year and I wouldn't be surprised if something don't come close to the big one this year.

My Grandpa and his buddy have been packed and ready to head to the camp for the past 2 weeks, Grans ready to kick him out of the house hahaha... Hes 78

Two thumbs up for your Grandpa. I hope when I'm that age (78) that I still have that desire and health to persue my favorite thing in life................hunting the whitetail.

Lol he still has the desire, both him and his buddy. They cant walk like they used to so they sit, I act as the dog lol.... Definately still have a love for it though, I know Gramps has never missed a deer hunt since he started hunting and that was back in the 50's I believe

Hey Buddzzzz. I am 56 and get revved, too. I have seen a bunch of deer towards Little Buffalo and Red Earth.
Here's a tip...the pointy end goes out of the barrel!

Yeah what do you mean 55 is old. My uncle said to me once that the day he stops getting excited about hunting is the day he quits. He's over 80 now and still gets excited about it even though his health keeps him from going out.
