Don't turn the scope backwards, turn the whole rig backwards. Shoot away from the target for true long range simulation 100 yds from the target. Its only 40,075 KM. Don't contavene any range rules though.

any idea on how much moa I need in my base/rings??

Hey I think flipping the scope around is a great way to simulate long range shooting.. While you're at it... shoot through a wall of water sprinklers fed by a fire hose to replicate the effect of wind and mirage.

Let us all know how you make out.

i think the best thing to do would be to get one of those vegetable misting hoses they have in grocery stores, set that up 1/2 way to the target and shoot on a sunny day, not only would you get the effect of a poor sight picture, you would also be able to report back with what caliber you found best for rainbow defense

this is gold.

rainbow defense.........pfffft......isn't that a Thursday thread topic???? Oh and for the record tracer ammo on rainbows is not effective at all.......

nope that's slidefire day.

I suspect rainbow defense is best co-ordinated by three operators to properly triangulate the location of the base before using high velocity rounds to make red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and magenta colored mist.

I forgot about this thread. If you shoot a .270win, a 0moa base should be fine. I can get the load data that my dad used to use for his handloads, according to his stories, the trajectory matches the curvature of the earth.

Dammit, I can't find it but someone posted something on facebook from 8541's website about a training aid for dry firing and setting longer focus points. I will try to find it later when I get home from work.
