We'll see how many days (hours?) I want to be hauling this thing around, but the current plan is to introduce a 'black rifle' into the rotation this season.

Stag 10L LEV2, chambered in .308 Winchester, topped with a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44. Load is 180 gr Nosler CT in front of 41.0 gr Varget.

What's your boom stick choice this season?

No licence this year :(. Bear licence I do have, carrying my trusted modified J.C. Higgins .30-06. Boyd stock, timney trigger, vortex glass. The .375 is a bit heavy to carry.

CV32 I'll be interested to hear what you think of that scope in the field. I have one that will hopefully get some use this year as well, for moose.
I will be carrying (weather dependent): my Gunsite scout in .308 w/ 150gr TTSX (with a Zeiss Terra 3-9x42), or my African in 6.5x55 w/ 120gr TTSX (with the Viper HS 2.5-10x44).

Sure thing. So far I am quite happy with it.

Both my rifles are new to me this year and although not as exciting as those stag 10's they should get the job done none the less.
Top is my ruger no.1 chambered in 280 rem. and topped with a Burris signature safari 1.75-5x32.
Bottom is my ruger compact mag chambered in 300 rcm, sitting in a McMillan stock and topped with a leupold vx3 3.5-10x40

Excited to take them into the field next month

I think this year i may take my M38 Mosin out... my k98 is a bit heavier but likely won'teven be used.. We only have calf tags so for moose at least the rifle will be more for carrying than using anyway.

Back when I first started out on big game,;)in the early 60's, the rifle I started out with was a Simpon-Sears 'special' sporterized Lee Enfield. This was in the Wells/Barkerville area. Still have the family cabin at Bowron Lake but :( not much access to Moose hunting in area 5 these days.

The venerable Lee-Enfield is probably still the most widely used big game rifle in this neck of the woods.

So, given's the Lieberal Party's intended plan to ban 'assault style' firearms, looks like this may be my first - and my last - opportunity to hunt with this rifle. :(

I’ve been known to carry a semi...

And I was first on scene to help when this bull was taken, had to take a pic!
