this website's sponsors just ruined my night.

American Member here,
saw one of the sponsors add for a Canadian Ammo website and lo and behold I found myself looking for .223/5.56mm ammo and just about fell out of my seat when I saw 1120 rounds of brass cased, boxer primed, 223 for about half the price it can be found for in the states... just as I was about to find out how high shipping was going to run me there was the little disclaimer"Clinton screwed you, this stuff is Chinese"...

... now I'm grumpy...

its cheap for a reason so don't feel so bad. I've only fired about 100 rounds of my Lot #02 and i've had one casing failure already. Not sure how I feel about it. I have one more case coming may sell it on the EE and buy some dirty bird instead.

Now you know how I feel when I google and accidentally get a US arms merchant. I get super-excited that guns I am interested in are half the price I normally see, and then I notice the 3" barrel pistols and the AK-47s and I come back to earth...

And yes, it is odd that the US imports almost everything imaginable from China except for guns and ammo. So - they banned Chinese ammo, but import pharmaceuticals. Boy, that sure showed those commie bastards!

Other than price though, you aren't missing anything too special with that 223 ammo. It is more "plinking" ammo than anything else.

90% of the shooting I do is plinking but I completely agree with the sentiments here, banning Chinese ammo and arms while well over 50% of what is found in your average walmart is Chinese doesn't make a whole lot of sense, especially when the failure rate of norinco ammo makes it slightly less lethal than the russian junk we are still allowed to import and the guns that are all banned have direct clones made in the US or imported from other countries(SKS and M1A come to mind). thanks for letting me rant guys, I did notice some guns going for way more than I normally see them so I guess that ball rolls both ways.

I haven't had a single shooting issue with two different lots of the Norc 5.56 ammo in two different AR's, and I don't expect precision ammo in 5.56 anyway. The brass is maybe the most questionable part and I anticipate reloading some of it down the road but do expect to inspect every case beforehand. I have seen some cracks and the odd pinhole after shooting. I recall someone else on CGN pulled a number of bullets on the Norc ammo and weighed the powder charges with pretty good consistency for bulk surplus.

Not that I want to rub it in or anything but they have free shipping on orders over $200! Aaaaaaand they just had a sale on where if you buy 3 cases you get the 4th free! ;) Sorry, I guess I was rubbing it in...it's just that 99 times out of 100 it's us Canadians feeling grumpy looking at what you guys can get down there so when we get a chance to gloat a little we do!

Would it make it worse if I told you that Canada Ammo recently ran a buy 3 get one free for norc ammo, and a lot of people here got LOTS of .223 for 22.4 cents a round? :p

Shoots great in my AR, great in my T-97 and just as good in my Target mini 14 as Black box ar223. I love this stuff!

You just beat me to that one :D

I bet it does make it worse. 4480 rounds for ~$1000, shipped to your door. Yup. Good deal.
