kinda had a crappy hunting season this year....so I was glad to connect with a nice animal
I had already passed up 8-9 different young bucks that had lots of growing left to do... with the help of my trail camera I was able to weed out the younger bucks knowing I had bigger deer in the area.. all that had to happen was for one of them to walk by while I was in my stand

saturday I saw this 10 pointer and made a really crappy shot on him( turned out I centered the liver upon post mortom inspection) at first there was great blood and was expecting an easy tracking job.. boy was I wrong, the blood trail had gone from spraying blood to only a pin head of blood every 50 yards meaning he was bleeding internally... this buck managed to walk an easy 600- 700 yards before he died... I actually didn't find him till the next morning

enjoy the pics, I have already shot one doe so im down to my last tag

Hey, congrats, nice buck. It never ceases to amaze me how far an animal can go with a solid liver hit. I shot a solid 7 pointer in the liver with the bow this year and he went 400 yardsbefore piling up on the run. Was he wound up or excited before the shot, maybe some extra adrenalin to help him cover the extra ground?

I'd like to know where a "crappy" season means you pass on 8-9 animals!!!!

I saw one all week, and shot it. That's a good season in my books.

Congrats on that nice buck Bobby! Taking it with the bow just makes it sweeter. I had my tag reserved for a big buck too, but had to but it on a little wounded spike buck. Oh well there's always next season to look forward too.

Nice mass on that rack.

Off topic but I'm still going to ask. I don't do achery but what do you do with the arrows after? Clean and re-use? Are they hard to clean? Do you lose accuracy?

Just curious.

All I can think is...you couldn't have gotten any sleep that night.
What a great 10 point, what did he field-dress...210 lbs? And you drug him out by yourself (not even dressed it looks like)
You were just posing for some nice pics right.:p
Congratulations.:D
