Thompson/Center barrel's

i have heard of some guys who ordered thompson parts/barrels over a year ago and have not received them yet.
 
I was interested in getting a contender pistol for myself and dropped into Reliable on Saturday and after they checked their suppliers on the computer they found absolutely nothing for contenders. Was going to give them a shout later in the week so they can call the suppliers and see what they can do.
 
Any luck finding stock in canada?
I'm asking because its a friend who is looking, and been waiting for his parts for over as year.
I think s&w bought them out which is what is causing the delays in parts.
 
I remember reading because of the buy-out, the barrel making was going to take a hit. The Custom Shop stopped taking orders a while back.

Lots of guys around with impressive T/C collections.
 
My friend got eh muzzleloader, and then bought 3 or 4 barrels for it and has them but is waiting on a forend. Technically he can put it together and use it without the forend but right now he's stuck with a muzzleloader and a few spare pipes that are useless till they start shipping out stocks/forends for last years model.

The shop that ordered the part for him said they will never deal with tc again
 
I love the TC Contenders. I currently own three frames with seven 10" bull barrels in calibres from 22LR to 223REM all in exc to mint condition.
 
Well my plan should the Canadian suppliers fail me is to import via Prophet River. If I'm going to end up importing it'll probably raise my cost of entry into the contender realm as I'd probably import all the barrels I think I want at once. The pistol seems like a lot of fun so I want 22lr match, 223, 30/30, and maybe 44mag.

ez8 if your friend just needs a forend maybe he can just buy one from the states and get it sent up here. There seems to be a few sites that look to stock them.

UPDATE:Just returned from my buddies and he has the following available, all of which appear to be in virtually new condition and original boxes are available as well. Oh, all are 10" barrels and priced @ $250.oo ea.
  • 22LR, octagon barrel (2 of)
  • 222 Remington, bull barrel
  • 25-35 Winchester, octagon barrel
  • 357 Hot Shot, ribbed barrel
  • 357 Herrett, bull barrel
