Anybody out there have some experience with this 22 for a kid and where I can find one in Canada? Everyone seems to have the Rascals and the Crickets, but I haven't come across any of these yet.

My boy is turning 4 in a few weeks and my wife suggested maybe getting him his first gun. He's probably a little small yet, but I would like to try and get him started out this summer.

North pro sports, Barton's and Lake Huron rod and gun all had them when I was looking, never bought one though. Try north pro first as they are in sask.
My kids 6 and been shooting since 4, Ruger 10/22, my 17hmr, couple Cooeys, 410 snake tamer and a 22-250 once, he does best with the red ryder BB gun though.
I did buy him a marlin youth single shot for his first hiding in the back of the safe, was looking at the Tc's as he seems to be more handy as a lefty as seems left eye dominant, hoping to retrain him a bit but might need to pick up a tc eventually.

I have one, it made it through one kid and the hammer spring was too weak for kid number 2, they warrantied the spring and it should be here any day now. My first kid shoots right and the second shoots left so it being abidextrous is come in handy. They are discontinued. There is also the xt22 youth, buy the repeater as it comes with a single shot adapter and is just a magazine away from a repeater and has the pro fire trigger and stainless. I also bought a browning bl22 micro midas and it's ambi too. That one is painful to watch getting bounced off trees and door frames though. I like being able to see if the hammer is cocked easily. It might be worth picking up a daisy red Ryder buck too, they are great for the smaller one to learn too

I've had one for a few years now. Awesome little gun! The kids love it. It's a very safe design with a hammer block safety in case they slip while trying to #### it. Single shot with manual ejection makes for a nice, slow, cheap day of shooting. Very accurate as well.

all my rifles are T/C ..getting parts for a T/C in canada is a major pita ...when you buy your hotshot ask the sales person if he has spare parts [ ex. firepin ] i just bought a 22 rimfire ROSSI break-open ..from EPPS ..very satisfied ..
