I am looking at getting one of these t/c 22's and am wondering if it's worth the money.Anybody have any experience or opinions on this rifle,I'm looking at the t/c r-55 all weather semi auto.

Am also in the process of buying one, have deposit on it and waiting for base and magazines to come in from T/C. Read about action .22 and may be good for that. I PMd a couple members on here and read the reviews, seemed good. Emailed E/C twice with questions and got responses both times the next day.

LeBaron had them on for $450, over analysed and missed the sale (were sold out early), SIR has them for $550 something but can find below $500 if phone around. Did check local dealers but no go on that, not a high production volume and can sell all they want in the US so not deal with too many Canadian dealers.

I was wondering if their stocks were lefty friendly or not. I couldn't find anything in the literature, and the cutout for the thumb looks like it's angled more for the right hand shooter.

that R-55 is so much because of the Laminate stock I believe. I know this is a nice looking semi-auto I'm interested in. :)

The R-55 I'm looking at has a composite stock.Seems like everyone's sort of on the fence about this 22.It's nice looking,it's a T/C comes with the lifetime warranty,so that pretty much covers the why so much thing but how does it shoot, cycle and all that other good stuff?

I Have The Classic Model And I Like It.it Is An Excellent Rifle.it Is Harder To Clean Than The 1022.4 Screws Have To Come Out.the Rifle Was A Jammer Until Broken In!!! It Was Not Untill After 600 Rounds Of Use And A Really Good Cleaning It Polished Up The Bolt And Lived Up To My Standards.now That It Is Broken In Jamming Is Not An Issue.magazines Are Sturdy And Work Well.i Would Buy Another One No Questions.i Am A Cronic Cleaner And Shooting Small Amounts Of Ammo And Cleaning All The Time Did Not Break The Sucker In.by Lots Of Ammo Go To The Range And Let Her Rip.then Keep It Clean After That And You Won't Be Up Set With Your Purchase.the Classic Does Not Have A Heavy Barrel But It Is Match Grade.half Inch Groups At 50 Meters Are Normal After You Figure Out What Ammo It Likes.off The Bench Of Course.using Federal Auto Match .it Shoots As Well As My Marlin Heavy Barrel Bolt Gun.in Fact The Marlin Has Not Been Used In Awhile.good Luck With Your Purchase Can Not Go Wrong With R-55.

The bolt and safety are on the right side, which may or may not be a challenge to overcome.

There's two varients of the R55, the older model used a spring to push the bolt closed (like a ruger 10/22) and the newer varient uses a spring to pull the bolt closed (sort of like a m1 carbine or m14, but not really)

Either are superb rifles, but the older varient is prone to light strikes when dirty. Accuracy is outstanding, benched 10-shot .5" groups with Lapua SC is the norm.
