I have gone through the process of returning my T/C Icon to the S&W service center. I'm dealing with Murray Charlton Ent. I found that some information previously posted on CGN in regards to procedures is no longer up to date. If you contact Murray Charlton, they will send you a sheet with instructions how to proceed. The Loomis shipping account has also changed from previous posts on this matter. I will ask for permission to post the info here.

I ran into a few minor issues with Loomis service rep.'s, who were rather uninformed about the whole deal, and in an attempt to get on with life, it was discovered that I'm shipping a gun. Open Pandora's box, needless to say. Contrary to the requirement sheet, Loomis will not ship guns via ground service! They insisted on shipping it air service. Well whatever, I'm anxious to hear what others have experienced.

P.S.: The information sheet also states that shipments need to be in accordance with the firearms act, which, to the very best of my knowledge, doesn't say anything about locking devices on non-restricted firearms for shipping. Please correct me if I'm wrong and refer to the appropriate section. Loomis does require a locking device for shipping guns.

Shipped mine to Murray Charlton about a week ago. Dropped it off at Loomis in person. The guy was more interested in a completed waybill than the contents of the package. Didn't ask about contents and I didn't feel inclined to offer any details. Delivery confirmed a few days later.

All of a sudden and unexpectedly the Loomis man rang my door bell today. Lo and behold, my T/C Icon is back home from repairs. I had sent it in to have the recall-issue fixed and to fasten the bedding block, which had come loose in the stock (bad accuracy as a result of that). Looks to be a brand-new stock now, although I have a poor recollection of what my original stock looked like. I think it had a couple of minor scratches where the bipod sat and the sling swivels rubbed. This one is completely spotless, they must have replaced the entire thing.
