Been looking at picking up a .223 bolt and ran across these babies :).

5r rifling and a nice crown for 500$ :D:D:D.

Any experience of these rifles ?.

Thanks fro any helpful info :).

Was happy with mine until I sent it in for the recall. That was Dec 28th. Still haven't seen it and as far as I was last informed the parts are enroute from the states but they have no idea where they are or when they are arriving.

Pretty pathetic when the repair centers are "hoping" for them to show up soon.

My Venture is from long before the recall. It has lived up to the accuracy claim and I think is a great value.

Well it looks like I am on the revised list. My rifle didn't fall in the initial dates but its number is on the list for the new list. Anyone in my boat who checked before the second press release should look again.

Will have to make some calls tomorrow and see what to do. Are guys just sending in the trigger group or how much do they need?

Just to be on the safe side I guess I should buy another rifle in case this warranty thing takes a while...

The recall is a complete replacement trigger assem ! Its held in place with 2 hanger pins- 15 min to do start to finish - barreled action has to some out of stock so you have to re shoot to check zero ! Done one ! Cheers RJ :)

If your venture fits into the recall it has to go back to one of the three depots listed on the s&w website.

Keep the receipt for shipping and send it to Loria at 413-747-3317 and TC will reimburse the consumer for freight costs incurred.

Back to the OPs initial question, ventures are awesome guns. CRAZY accurate and a joy to shoot.
Just make sure to get the pre or post recal guns. If you get a used one that was on the list, there should (if memory serves me well) be a mark stamped on the rear of the bolt signifying it has been inspected/fixed.

Honestly, for the money its right up there for value. Buy it and I would be surprised if you regret it.

Just took mine to North Sylva yesterday. Great bunch of guys. They asked me if I was in a hurry. They said hang around we'll do it while you wait then. Now that's service. I'm glad I made the drive up to see them.

Great Rifle.

Gun arrived back today. It seems I will need to adjust the trigger back to where I had it but thats no big deal. If your gun comes back like mine with the bolt un-cocked remember to give the rear of the bolt assembly a twist to #### the firing pin so it will go in the rifle.
