The company that makes the Thompson kit for the 10/22 can't or won't ship to Canada. Is it legal to buy it down there and bring one back?

Not legal to do so without the proper export permits, due to ITAR restrictions. Contact Dave at hical.ca, as he was bringing these in on an order by order basis and still may be doing so. The price was $399 per kit.

As long as it's only the wood and a few nuts & bolts you should be good.

It's only illegal on the U.S. side, once you make it past the flags your golden on the Canadian side, makes sense huh?

Same with bullets, if you get busted with a box of 20 7mm-08 Remington hunting bullets over there you go directly to jail, do not pass go, but Canada customs couldn't care less if you tell them you have a box of shells with you.

The kits are available from hical.ca I bought mine from him and it was pretty damn good.

I got one from Hical as well. Very nice kit, fun to shoot, get lots of looks when I bring it out at the range.

I'm torn which kit to get, (if I can) I like the squad leader look but I like the drum mag on the "chicago typwriter"
