Thompson Machine gun

^ only he who can purchase the gun has the right to call any 'Tommy Gun' Ghey....And for that I hate and admire you at the same time:p

The long brl. ones do look 'not as good' as the shorty imho too.

And it's the same guys that can purchase it, will be the ones setting the price.

I agree 100% with Mr. Klunk, the long barrel just doesn't do it for me. Honestly, I couldn't/wouldn't get it for cheap enough.

However, and I say this with all respect, all the above is just one dude's opinion, mine. If ya like it and want it, get it.

there's nothing cool about a long barrelled Thompson. Of course it could be rebarrelled or perhaps cut to a proper length. That being said the kind of buyer who would spend that money is likely going to offer that much less than the asking price.

When I got my 1927A1 a few years back, (well maybe more than just a few...) I ordered a proper length barrel and new Cutts compensator for it. Auto Ordnance Corp didn't want to send it to Canada, but I sent them a copy of the relevant excerpts from our criminal code and it soon came in the mail. The only problem I ever had with my Tommy gun was the cheap aluminum part in the foregrip breaking, wich caused the grip to slide off from the receiver. A quick letter got me a replacement steel part and a good excuse to change the barrel.

Geez, if you cut the barrel, couldn't that make it prohibited?;)

Bad news for you chummy: the Thompson IS prohibited 12(5) exactly like the FN and LOTS of other "mean looking" firearms.

please drop me a line in private mail as I'd be interested to know about all the hassles you had to go through to get that shorter bbl from the USA (unless you know of someone here in Canada who would stock such bbls). I have just bought a M1928A1DeLuxe and am waiting to take possession in the next week or so.
