What's with the sight placement?

For some reason all the Tavors I've seen come with the BUIS mounted backwards. They are also always mounted too close together.

I think the spacing has to do with being able to deploy the integrated rail sights.

Spacing from factory is weird, but they are not mounted backwards. Thats just the design.
