Let me guess, you're the kind of guy that asks for a discount on gas after he's filled his tank, right?

What about chocolate bars, you ever tried to dicker on the cost of those?

Good freakin' grief, man.

Wow the old game began again. Let me get on this one again. Private brokerage rates are high then try to import a box of Tapco stocks. You are forgetting that each commercial shipment will have Permit which can run 250 and higher. This will be passed to us. Brokerage fees 80. We would pay as dealers 350. Cost of investment time and phone calls. I seriously appreciate all the dealers who bring it you in Canada. If you want to try it for fun drive over to the border and try to bring one Tapco stock or better Tapco magazine. Even if it is for your private use you will spend at least 4 hours at the border and you might not get your items back. It is all at discreation of Customs officer. I have friends who were issued fines for doing so and other had to pay duty.
Anyway what I was trying to say again is it is not easy to do everything the legal way and it cost money. Just because we as dealers do it thew legal way you guys get items you want.

Cheers

Again, you do not have your facts right in regards to getting product from the U.S. for private use. I can't comment on the commercial aspect. If I can't get the products I want in Canada when I want them and at a decent price, I will bring it in from the USA if the products conforms to Canadian laws and regulations. In regards to Tapco products from stocks to high capacity magazines pinned to 5 rounds, never had a problem. It is not up to the discretion of the custom's officer, there are rules and reg's they have to follow so you supply them with the rules and regs when declaring the items. I have never spent more than 30 minutes on two occasions in the office, most of the time waved right through. Tapco products are made in the USA so there is no duties on these items....free trade, once in awhile they will get you for the HST. A lot of people talk about the US prechecks before entering Canada. I attend a lot of US gun shows and have been through these prechecks on three occasions. I told them what I have, never a problem. All the US prechecks cared about when I went through them was Firearms and Ammunition. This is my experience as well as many other people.

Besides that the SKS is not on there watch list for part's. Most of the parts they care about is I don't know say...
AR 15, M 14, M 1 Granad & Carbine you know stuff that there military actualy use's or used in service along with optic's and red dot's. Hence why so many on this board get ton's of stuff from SKSMan dot com. But then again the more you get people scared about the big bad boogie man the more and more you can charge them. Oh ya then there is the $100 limit thing. But letz not walk down that road. Although 100% mark up is nice to get I think I will just get it from down south and save the raping for later because it is a nice stock.

Hi folks, I wondered if I could get a little advice......

I am going to purchase my first SKS in a few weeks and this is definitely the stock for my taste. In looking at the optics sticky, I see a wide range of scope mounts, and configurations. Can anybody give me some suggestions as to which would work best for this stock? Mount to the side of the receiver, or to the stock, etc......

Thanks!

Have a browse on our Website, HERE. Reciever mount are the good, but require mods to the stock. The best all round would be the choate receiver mount, Solid, less wood to remove. The other alternative is the receiver mount. Easier to install, just make sure they are fitted correctly to remain stable.

Hmmmm.... Your site looks great thanks! I like the fiber optic site, looks great. I will have to have a closer look at the mounts to decide, more homework needed there.

With the tapered handguard, can you still mount a stock bi-pod, or would mods be needed? I am looking at picking up a bunch of SKS stuff at one time. Can you guys also do all the fitting and put together a package price? If so, I'll shoot you a PM next week and we can go over details....

Thanks again

Save yourself the time and money and just put a red-dot on any SKS you're buying. The POSP is a really decent scope, but the SKS isn't particularly accurate anyways. Most high quality red dots are good to a couple hundred meters anyways.

Get this and a used EOTech and you're Good to go:

*note: you may have to modify that mount a hair to get it the EOTech to lineup*

Yes sir I think this is what I am after. I like the option of also being able to use the factory sight as well for closer range if I did put a scope on it. And that would save me the trouble of modifying the stock of course which I was really hoping I would not have to do. Thanks for the advice!
