Have any of you guys had any issues with interior cutright located in Kamloops? Me and a friend recently took our deer to Interior cut right in kamloops to get butchered. My friend wanted to take them there because he was going to get his made into as much jerky as possible to distribute amongst his huge family.

Anyway they had our deer for a while because they said they were busy and that was not a problem. Once we got them back we realized a few inconsistencies. First my friend got about 10 pounds of jerky and then they ground the rest up. They told him that they got swamped right after we dropped off our deer so that made things change on the order I guess. He was pretty bummed out (tried to buy the jerky I had off me) I thought my order was fine but just noticed it says 8 lbs of moose jerky on my reciept.

I shot a deer. All my roasts etc are too small to be moose so I think the majority of my order is good. I have no way to tell if my jerky is moose or deer since I have never had either before. Oh well it is tasty. Last year they told me they accidentally turned my whole deer into breakfast sausage. The only made me pay 1/2 price of what the breakfast sausage would have cost. Then when I got home and opened the box they had given me it was full of basically everything I ordered???

I am pretty sure the person who billed me had had a few drinks before they dealt with my order. Don't get me wrong though working as a butcher all day during hunting season probably requires a few drinks. Plus they seem to be open from early in the morning to late in the evening so they work hard. Also they all seem to be really friendly so I will probably keep on going to them. That or maybe try my hand at butchering the next one for a change. Either way just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on interior cutright?

i took a buck to that guy , two years ago, i skinned and cleaned it myself so i know it was hairless and clean, when i got it back it was dirty, and not deboned as i paid for,no fat trimmed, just a mess, when i questioned him he blew a temper tantrum ,about how much work it was to debone, etc, he will not get a dead dog from me,p.m. me your phone # if you like i live near there ,,wade

Go look on Youtube for deer butchering videos. There are a couple good ones there.

I really liked one, with a host that was a chef, IIRC, who basically went right down the whole one side of a deer carcass and left the other side intact during the video. I got the link off here last year, I'm pretty sure. My google-fu is weak tonight, i cannot find it. It was from one of the US hunting show channels, IIRC, filmed in the US south.

Gather together stuff like butcher paper before you start. It's easy! First one is slow, it gets faster.

Cheers

theres a cooler 4.4 k up greenstone road aka cherry crk, phone #250-3188922 he can arrange cuting and cooling, i aggree with trevj learn to do your own, i have done tons just got lazy, never again to cutrite meats wade

Update: Just had a nice moose roast for dinner tonight. Only problem is I shot a deer. I cannot believe this. Although I am not really to upset because moose roasts are way better than deer. Starting to correspond to the fact that my receipt says "moose" on it. Anyway if you have been to interior cutright in kamloops and have noticed your moose meat came home with about 90 or so pounds of deer we should talk. In the meantime I will be eating your moose roasts because they are really good.

Good butchers are like gold, I used the same guy for 15-20 years. He retired and a new guy took over. I went somewhere else for a couple of years the brought a Deer back to my original shop. Now I pride myself on bringing in spottless game, as I'm sure most do. After getting my Deer squared away I'm leaveing and notice someone has brought in a Deer with the hide still on. A young guy is skinning it out back. He's skinning it in 4" stripps. The frieking thing was a massive hair ball. It's going straight into the cooler to hang beside my clean Deer. Last time there.

used them two years ago, shot a fairly small deer and got a mountain of meat back...didn't complain it was all good. Just dropped a deer off three days ago for another try. Really nice people though.

Took in a quartered and cleaned moose, no hair, no junk just the clean quarters. Came back with deer hair and other bits in it. Never got my order right either, not what I asked for. I used the guys at Kam-lake view meats for years until they stopped cutting game, now I do my own.

In short I won't go back.

I gave up on butchers 4 years ago, bought a bandsaw and grinder and do all my own and my freinds.Sausages, jerky, hamburg ,the works. My last straw was when the guy and his helper unloaded my perfectly clean deer and tossed it on the floor of his cooler onto sawdust and hair because he did`nt have hook space.Needless to say the deer went right back into my truck.#######s.:kickInTheNuts:

Learn to cut your own. It will be way better than anything the "
butchers" can do for you. I then get them to make sausage out of the trim. Let's face it -- even coyote would be good done up into garlic coils.
