Thought I had a bad gas tube but now I'm not so sure...

My gas tube might not be my problem after all. I notice I'm only having poor ejection after a lot of rapid fire. There looks to be a coating on the casings of surplus x39 and I think its actually melting and getting my chamber very sticky. Which could possibly go unnoticed if I had no big rail on my gun to obstruct any of the weaker ejections. I'm not 100% on this theory yet but I do notice I'm only having ejection problems after heavy use and the gun becomes very hot.

Oh yeah, talking about a Russian SKS here...

Yeah it looks like I need a good chamber brush. All I can find right now are bore brushes for the whole barrel but since the chamber is wider I need to figure out what to use just for that section...

I think I used a 410 shotgun bore brush soaked in solvent and attached a short section of cleaning rod to my cordless drill. Worked perfect

Actually I was looking at one of those and wondering about it. Now that you mention it I think I'll try one of those, thanks. I guess when I go shooting I'll have one and a piece of cleaning rod and hoppes for when the chamber gets gummed up so I can continue shooting. We'll see how that works. I got my rail off and I'm rockin the iron sights again just to see how the ejection is when it starts to get sticky.
