Thought on lee turret press

Wondering if anyone has the 4 hole turret press and how they like it. I'm thinking of this one or the lee classic cast single stage ?.
 
I do not, and I wish I did.
Will be getting a turret press of some brand or another.
Either that or set up a couple or more dedicated single stage presses.
 
I added a Lee Classic Cast Turret press this year to my growing number of presses. It has been a great addition to my setup.

I use it for the calibers where I require an output rate faster than a single stage press, but not as great as a progressive. A great example is 44-40 loads where I use 4 dies, including a factory crimp die. The turret press works great for this, and caliber changes are quick if you have extra turrets set up with the dies installed.

I have one and really like it. 4000+ rounds later and I have few complaints. The only thing that has me thinking about getting a single stage press is for seating accuracy with precision reloads on a fussy rifle where I think I need to be +/- 3 thousandths. When using brass that has a fairly loose neck, the slop in the turret head makes consistency in OAL difficult to achieve.

If one does moderate volume (up to 300 rounds a week) and wants to load both pistol and rifle on one press, the Lee Turret is great.
 
Ya I'm just looking to build a pile of rounds to have on hand for the range when I go. Few pistol cal and some rifle. More 223 than anything. And some hunting rounds 308-30-06. Don't have a press yet but close on the turret I think ??
 
I have the 4 hole turret press and I love it. I added the powder measure and adapter and it is now almost as quick as my progressive. For small batches of test loads, I remove the indexing rod and use it as a single stage.
 
I have the Lee Classic Turret, I like that I can preset all my different dies and don't have to readjust when I switch dies or calibers. I don't use the autoindexing feature so I cannot comment on that.

For the price I don't think you can go wrong
 
I love mine. It has about 3000 rounds through it. My only concern is the black plastic bit (the auto index clamp) on the indexing rod. It is held together with a screw and it gets a lot of physical wear and tear. Eventually the threads will wear and it will all be loose. I emailed Lee about it and they sent me a new one but I'm still using the old one but with a long bolt and wingnut. It keeps that piece clamped together very nicely. Other than that one small problem I believe it's a great press.
 
It's good to see the positive feedback - as my Lee Turret press is in the mail from Budget. I'm looking forward to learning to reload
 
I always thought the original lee turret press was a little cheesy in quality so never bought one. However, when they came out with the classic turret that is cast iron (or steel, not sure which) I finally broke down and bought one & it's totally worth it. Built like a tank and pretty quick to boot. Not as fast as my progressives but perfect for calibres I don't load in high volume and MUCH faster than a single stage. I do continue to use my Rockchucker for rifle cartridges, however. I think the reloads are more consistent. Not a big deal with pistol reloads at 25 yards but can be with rifle at 200 yards.
