Thoughts on a balance beam scale.

Weighed a couple things today when doing some reloads.

loonie 109.05 When I went to .0 it was a little high and .1 was a little low.
 
What I've done for a few loads is make up a charge-specific weight from a brass rod. I cut the rod a bit over the desired weight, and sanded down to the weight I wanted. Then I can zero the scale at the intended charge weight. Easy peasy, and always consistent.

Check weights are a good idea, but assuming change is homogeneous isn't. If you make your own check weight, keep them with the scale. The variation in coin weight is surprising.
 
I still use a beam scale, never could get used to the digital ones. Every now and then, I'll weigh various bullets to see how close the scale is. Still spot on. I also use an old Redding powder thrower with RCBS trickler. And my press is older than most posters on here, still has the single primer seater built in, though I upgraded to the hand priming tool some years ago. :)
